Lillian Waters Shank

Lillian Herrin Shank, 91, of Savannah died July 31, 2009 at Habersham House under the care of Hospice Savannah.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Weldon Windy Herrin and their infant daughter Jane Elizabeth Herrin; her second husband Jacob Henry Shank; a brother Humbert Waters and a sister Marian Waters Crawley.
Survivors include her son William Weldon Herrin, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Huntsville, AL; her son James Jarrett Herrin and his wife Lynn of Peachtree City, GA; a sister, Bennette Waters Shreve of El Paso, TX ; four grandchildren: Blake Herrin of Madison, AL, Catherine Brown of Birmingham, AL , Jennifer Henig of Peachtree City, GA and Tyler Herrin of Atlanta, GA ; and six great-grandchildren.
The family extends a special thanks to Ray Crawley, nephew, and Vickie Sepielli, family friend, for thier dedication and help.
For 70 years she was a member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church. She was longtime secretary for Chatham County Sheriff Carl Griffin. An avid bridge player, she was ranked as Silver Life Master by the American Contract Bridge League.
The family will receive friends on Thursday August 6 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, with funeral service following at 2:00. Burial will be at Bonaventure Cemetery.
The service will be conducted by Rev. Creede Hinshaw of Wesley Monumental UMC.
